For the first twelve-plus years of her career, Kate held various roles as an investment analyst evaluating hedge funds, which are pooled investment vehicles only available to accredited investors that typically have broad flexibility in investment strategy.  During this time, Kate met with hundreds of managers active across various geographies and financial markets.  Through this breadth of exposure, she has developed a differentiated perspective on markets and a healthy skepticism of conventional wisdom.

Kate's experience has shaped her approach to asset allocation and informs how she manages client portfolios at YYA.  She has built hedge fund portfolios for high net worth individuals and families, as well as institutional clients (including pensions, endowments, insurance companies, and more).  Investing on behalf of a wide variety of organizations and individuals over the years has been an important education in listening to - and understanding the needs, concerns, and goals of - the people she serves.

Kate holds a B.A. in Engineering Sciences with a concentration in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from Harvard University. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) Charterholder and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. She was named a Hedge Fund Rising Star by Institutional Investor in 2017.  Kate lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two young sons, where she is active in several local community, non-profit, and political organizations.
